The Boston Bruins signed veteran defenseman Shane Hnidy on Saturday to a one-year contract. Hnidy, who hasn’t played since injuring a shoulder during a training camp tryout with Phoenix, joined the Bruins on the ice in Vancouver on Wednesday. He has yet to be clear to play by doctors and wasn’t scheduled to be in the Boston lineup against the host Canucks on Saturday night.
