Since Shakira split with her husband and Gerard Pique split with his long-time girlfriend, the Spanish media has pretty much assumed that the Waka-Waka World Cup singer and the bloody-bloody World Cup winner have come together to form some kind of Posh and Becks 2.0 relationship. Evidence of this celebrity convergence has been scarce, however, which is why some media outlets reportedly put a €150,000 bounty on the first picture of the two of them together.
So, paparazzi were posted outside Pique’s house 24 hours a day, hoping for that inevitable shot that could just as easily be photoshopped and Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola apparently grew concerned that this would all somehow become a distraction. Which might be why prankster Pique chose to post the above picture from his birthday celebration on his Facebook page as a sly way of confirming the relationship.
Making it all the more tabloid perfect is the fact that Pique was born exactly 10 years after Shakira. But this tidbit will surely be lost on Pique’s one true love, Zlatan Ibrahimovic…
Meanwhile, Carles Puyol would gladly accept your €150,000 for a picture of him with his girlfriend, Malena Costa (brunette on the left). He’d even settle for €11 and a Timecop DVD.
