Qatar ruler to ask country on World Cup timing (AP)

Qatar’s ruler says he will listen to the views from his country on whether to hold the 2002 World Cup in winter to avoid the intense summer heat. The statement by Qatari emir Sheik Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani suggests there’s still an option to shift the tournament despite FIFA President Sepp Blatter saying this month that it was fixed for summer.
