Kings top Caps, point streak now 8 games (AP)

Washington Capitals goalie Semyon Varlamov (1), of Russia, eyes a flying puck while approached by Los Angeles Kings left wing Alexei Ponikarovsky (27), of Russia, in the third period of an NHL hockey game at the Verizon Center in Washington, on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011. The Kings won 4-1.

Halfway through the longest road trip in franchise history, the Los Angeles Kings have found life away from home to be quite exhilarating. Andrei Loktionov scored the tiebreaking goal at 3:36 of the third period, and Los Angeles beat the punchless Washington Capitals 4-1 Saturday to extend its point streak to a season-high eight games.
